I'm a professional bilingual writer and photographer from Caracas, Venezuela. I have a law degree and practiced at the Venezuelan Supreme Court. I worked as a researcher for a political party in my country as well. I represented this party, Proyecto Venezuela, as a candidate for the Latin American Parliament and as a representative for the local government of the State of Miranda. My first graduate degree is in Integrated Marketing Communications. I believe the combination of a law degree, my experience in working in politics and my communications studies have given me very strong qualifications to interact with any audience. I am a fan of local products and small businesses. I enjoy supporting them through Facebook and Twitter. I own my photography practice, Valentina Vitols Studio. I have also worked as a freelance curator for the Mission Arts and Performance Project (MAPP) in San Francisco. I have been writing for 20 years, and honed my talent—both in Spanish and English—at several writing centers in Caracas and at the Summer Writing Festival in the University of Iowa. My writing has been published by Art Voices Magazine, Univision, Belo Corp., Facebook and Helio Magazine (Peru). I have traveled extensively as a photographer and have work from Thailand, Cambodia, Myanmar, Mexico, Argentina, Uruguay, Peru, Costa Rica, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Venezuela and the US. I have shown my work in several cities in the US and been published by The Food Network, Interior Design Magazine, Where Magazine, Restaura Magazine (Chile), Seattle Magazine, Seattle Metropolitan (online), Edible Seattle (online), King5?s Evening Magazine, MyNorthwest.com and Refrigerator Soup. Currently, I'm part of Shutter Tours' team, a photographic tours company in Seattle (http://www.shuttertours.com/). I thoroughly enjoy talking to our visitors about Seattle's history and teaching them photography. I collaborate with Shutter Tours' PR and Social Media as well.

Camera batteries bought the Rainier cherries’ print a ticket to…Atlanta!

Last week I decided to do a giveaway for our Facebook and Twitter followers. The premise was simple: answer a question and if it matches ours, we’ll include your name in our drawing. This was the question: “What is the MOST important thing you should always carry in your camera bag? If your answer matches [...]

Dazzling lights and al fresco photo session Summer special

I close my eyes and remember New Year’s fireworks in my home country Venezuela. Then, I open them only to see that the calendar marks two-digit dates for July. The spectacular display of lights on the 4th of July in Gasworks Park in Seattle is long gone. We’re finally seeing fewer sleeves and boots, and [...]
